Pump dose: Use 2 to 3 gm per 15-litre knapsack pump for general foliar application.
Seed Treatment: Dip potato tubers or ginger rhizomes in 200 ppm Streptocycline (2 gm in 10 litres of water) for 30 minutes before planting.
How to Use Hindustan Antibiotics Streptocycline:
Open the Streptocycline bactericide pack carefully and measure the required quantity using a clean spoon or weighing scale.
Wear gloves and a face mask before measuring the product.
Half-fill the spray tank with clean water.
Slowly add the measured bactericide into the tank while stirring continuously until fully dissolved.
Add the remaining water and mix thoroughly to form a uniform spray solution.
Use a fine-mist or hollow-cone nozzle for proper coverage.
Spray during calm weather, covering both upper and lower leaf surfaces.
For seed treatment, prepare a 200 ppm solution and dip the seed material for 30 minutes before planting.
Best Time to Apply:
Spray Hindustan Streptocycline at the first sign of bacterial disease symptoms — small water-soaked spots on leaves, wilting of shoots, or bacterial ooze from stems. Early spraying gives the best results because bacterial diseases spread quickly once established. Late afternoon or early evening is the best window, as leaf temperature is cooler and product absorption is stronger.
Frequency of Application and Re-entry Period:
Frequency: 2 to 3 sprays of Streptocycline per crop cycle at 10 to 15-day intervals, depending on disease pressure and weather.
Re-Entry Period: Wait 12 to 24 hours after spraying before re-entering the treated field without protective clothing.
Compatibility: It is compatible with most common fungicides (especially copper-based products), insecticides, and water-soluble fertilizers. Rotating bactericide with copper fungicides gives better bacterial control and slows down resistance build-up. Always run a small jar test before a new tank-mix.
Safety, Precautions and Handling:
Wear full protective clothing including hand gloves, face mask, and goggles before handling.
Avoid eating, drinking, and smoking during the entire mixing and spraying operation.
Spray only in calm weather conditions to avoid drift and inhalation.
After application, change clothes and take a bath with soap and clean water.
Keep the product label handy and contact a physician immediately in case of any exposure or ingestion.
