Soybean | Pre-emergence (0–3 DAS) | 60–100 ml | 0.3–0.5 ml | 4.5–7.5 ml |
Sugarcane | Pre-emergence, after planting | 100 ml | 0.5 ml | 7.5 ml |
Tea | Directed spray, inter-row | 100 ml | 0.5 ml | 7.5 ml |
Non-Crop Areas | On actively growing weeds | 100–150 ml | 0.5–0.75 ml | 7.5–11 ml |
Water Volume: Use 150 to 200 litres of water per acre for uniform soil coverage. Pump dose: Use 4.5 to 7.5 ml per 15-litre knapsack pump for general application.
How to Use Sumitomo Sumi Max Herbicide:
Prepare the field with a fine, moist seedbed — pre-emergence herbicides work best on well-tilled, weed-free soil.
Wear gloves and a face mask before opening the Sumi Max bottle.
Shake the bottle well and measure the required quantity using a marked cup or syringe.
Half-fill the spray tank with clean water and pour in the measured product slowly.
Add the remaining water and stir until the solution looks uniform.
Use a flat-fan nozzle for herbicide application — never a hollow-cone insecticide nozzle.
Spray evenly over the soil surface, without going over the same area twice.
Do not disturb the soil surface after spraying, as it breaks the herbicide film.
Best Time to Apply:
Spray Sumitomo Sumi Max Herbicide at the pre-emergence stage — within 0 to 3 days after sowing, when the soil is moist, but weed seedlings have not yet emerged. Apply Flumioxazin 50% SC during calm weather in the early morning or late evening. Avoid dry, cracked soil and heavy rain within 24 hours of application.
